The short version: TestivAI is MIT-licensed open-source software that runs entirely on your own machine. There is no hosted service, no account, and no data of yours reaching us. These Terms cover the testiv.ai website; the software itself is governed by its MIT licence.
These Terms apply to the testiv.ai website and its documentation. The TestivAI software — the @testivai/* packages and everything in the testivai-oss repository — is licensed separately under the MIT Licence, which takes precedence for anything concerning the software itself.
TestivAI is a visual regression testing toolkit. It captures screenshots and DOM snapshots during your test runs, compares them against baselines committed to your repository, and writes an HTML report to disk. All of this happens locally, on your machine or your CI runner.
There is no hosted service, no dashboard, no account, and no API key. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The software is released under the MIT Licence. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell copies of it, including for commercial purposes and including to build something that competes with it. The only condition is that the copyright notice and licence text travel with it.
Nothing on this website restricts those rights. Where this page and the MIT Licence disagree about the software, the MIT Licence wins.
Screenshots, DOM snapshots, baselines, and reports never leave the machine that produced them. We do not receive, process, store, or retain any of it, and we have no ability to access it.
Website analytics are covered in the Privacy Policy.
Please do not attempt to disrupt the website or use it in a way that breaks the law. That is the whole list.
The software and this website are provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. This mirrors the MIT Licence.
Visual regression testing is a tool, not a guarantee. You remain responsible for reviewing what it reports and for deciding what ships.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE, THIS WEBSITE, OR THE USE OF OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THEM.
This website and its documentation may change or go offline at any time. The software is unaffected — it is on npm, on GitHub, and on your own machine, and it keeps working regardless.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
